Welcome to the ninth RUSKA day on Friday 25 September. This year we will visit the beautiful Backby Manor in Espoo. In the morning will focus on AI in Research and our work at TUTA. During the day, ideas and thoughts can also be exchanged over breakfast, lunch, and naturally during the afternoon recreational activities.

8:30       Private bus transport from TUAS to Backby Manor
9:00       Arrival at Backby Manor & A good morning breakfast (Manor)
9:45       Icebreaker with Hanne & Marvin | Welcome, Niina Nurmi (Meeting room VAAHTERA, separate building)
10:20 TUTA update | Jens Schmidt
10:30     AI in Research; Jukka Luoma, Ville Eloranta, Kimmo Karhu
12:30     Buffet lunch (Manor)
13:30     Outdoor activities: Team Games (mölkky, petanque) / Forest walk (2-4-6 km) on trails in various lengths and abilities / Frisbee golf
15:30     Wrapup & Coffee (Manor)
16:00     Bus transport from Backby (back in Otaniemi approx. 16:30)

RUSKA Research day is a yearly event that takes place during the fall semester. The research day is part of TUTA’s long-term target to energize and advance the TUTA research community, its efforts, vision, and its research and societal impact.

A few practicalities

08:30 our bus will depart from TUAS, pick up point between Maarintie 8 and Maarintie 6 buildings upon departure
Dress warm and wear good shoes for outdoor trekking/frisbee golf, check weather here
The team games will be mölkky or pétanque, alternatively you can join the guided walk, go trekking or throw frisbee golf
Frisbee discs are available on site or you can bring your own
In case of heavy rain we will have an indoor relaxation session (60 min) or playing board games over coffee and pulla!
