Improved group assignments for large courses on MyCourses
MyCourses performance has been improved in a way that affects significantly courses with many students where group-based assignments are used.
Previously, some teachers experienced errors or long loading times when opening activities and had to create separate submission folders to split groups so the activity pages would load faster. With the latest update—live since a couple of weeks ago—that workaround is no longer necessary.
In our tests, a single assignment activity containing up to 100 groups loaded correctly in under three seconds. This change makes it easier to manage large courses and keep group assignments in one place without delays when reviewing submissions and grading. It also simplifies the course workspace structure and gradebook planning.
