The summer update typically introduces the most new features into the system, and this year is no exception. Here are some key changes:
- The Moodle version will be updated from version 4.3 to version 4.5.
- Integration of artificial intelligence within the system. In the first phase, teachers will be enabled to use AI in the text editor. Teachers can use it as a tool for translation and content creation. It is not available for assessment or any content summary tasks. This functionality is available for teachers only.
- Instructions GenAi on MyCourses
- Tags for teachers to communicate how AI should be used in assignment. This makes it easier for students to understand restrictions in the assignment, and teachers don’t need to write constraints separately each time. Feature will be part of text editor.
- Updates in the course layout and navigation. The course homepage will include a summary of the sections of the course. Students has better view on their progress and activities in section. Also subsections, sections within sections, will be introduced.
- Instructions Moodle Docs – Add a subsection
- New button to text editor to help tag multilingual content allowing teachers to tag page elements to be displayed according to the language selected by the user.
In addition to these, Moodle also includes many smaller fixes and changes, which you can read about on the Moodle release notes.
