Presentation instructions

Instructions for oral presentations

In the parallel sessions, each presenter will have 17 minutes for an oral presentation followed by 5 minutes for questions and answers (Q&A).

Each lecture hall is equipped with a desktop computer and an HDMI cable. Thus, the presenters can give their presentation either from their own computer or upload a PowerPoint or PDF file from a USB stick to the desktop computer. The presenters are kindly advised to come to the session 10 minutes before the start of the session to check that the presentation can be shown without glitches.

The last presenter acts as the session chair, ensuring that the schedule is kept and facilitating the Q&A part of the session.

Instructions for posters

A poster is a graphical presentation of research that illustrates the authors’ findings using graphs, photos, diagrams, and a limited amount of text on a poster board.

There will be a dedicated poster session during which the authors will present their posters. The poster session will take place right outside Lecture Hall B on Thursday, 11 July, from 11.45 a.m. until 2 p.m. Poster presenters are kindly asked to set up their posters for this session on Thursday morning before 11.30 a.m. using the stands that are provided. They will remain available for viewing for the rest of the conference.

Instructions for making and printing the poster:

  • We strongly recommend minimizing the amount of text on the poster.
  • The recommended size of the poster is A0 portrait form (width: 841 mm, height: 1189 mm).
  • Your poster must not exceed the maximum size of the poster board: 1700 mm (= 66.9 inches) tall and 950 mm (= 37.4 inches) wide.
  • Pins will be available for mounting posters.

We strongly recommend printing your poster before arriving in Finland. However, if you cannot travel with a poster and will be arriving early, you can get in touch with Mister Easy Business at https://meb.fi/ENG/posters. They offer printing in 2-3 days (recommended) and a 24-hour express service. Mister Easy Business is located in Helsinki City Centre in Kamppi, a 20-minute metro ride from the conference venue in Otaniemi.
