Summer in campus – nothing to do?

Summer is the favourite season for all Finns. It is finally getting warm, you can take off winter jackets, take longer strolls along the seashore… Many students are visiting their home towns/countries, many have summer jobs. The campus is much quieter these days. But it does not mean there is nothing else to do!

If you did not land a job, there are plenty of things to do on campus in the summer. Check out the list of summer courses and schools. Whether you want to brush up your Finnish, learn more about management and marketing or solve real challenges for companies – there is always something for you to do in the summer at Aalto!

My personal favourite is the Chemarts summer school the aim of which is to create concepts for bioeconomy by combining business thinking, design, and natural materials science. Finland is famous for its forests but now it’s about time to find new sustainable ways to utilize the woods. Check out their video.

Don’t forget to just enjoy the weather, swim in the lakes and visit all the nice local events this summer! Let yourself relax a little before another busy year comes.
