Wed 29 May at 18:30 – 20:30 Get-together evening at Löyly
Hernesaarenranta 4, Helsinki

We welcome all ICBEM 2024 participants to the pre-conference Get-together & Networking event on Wednesday May 29.

Our setting is the iconic Löyly Sauna, Bar & Restaurant on the southern tip of Helsinki. During the informal evening, you will get to enjoy refreshments and the famous Löyly salmon soup. Finnish actor and fisherman Jasper Pääkkönen is behind the secret recipe of the soup, and he is also one of the founders of Löyly.
The entire sauna department and it’s adjacent terrace are reserved for ICBEM 18:30-20:30. Why not try the gentle steam of the smoke sauna and take a refreshing swim in the sea! We warmly recommend it, and remind you to bring your swimsuit as the saunas are mixed.
You can naturally join the party without going to sauna, the terrace towards the sea will be our outdoor venue.

Agenda
17:45 The private bus to Löyly departs from Aalto University Dipoli (Conference venue)/Hotel Radisson Espoo
17:50 Bus stops for pick-up at Hotel Radisson Espoo
18:30-20:30 The Löyly saunas and adjacent terrace are reserved for us and our staff will guide you how to find your way back by public transport tram number 6 to city centre or walk into city centre 20 min.

LÖYLY BAR, RESTAURANT, AND SAUNA

Löyly is one of the most popular things to see and do in Helsinki and the perfect setting for ICBEM 2024 participants to relax and wrap up their first day at the conference. In 2018, Löyly was among Time Magazine’s 100 Best Places in the World.

Sauna is an essential part of Finnish culture and the national identity. There are only 5.4 million Finns, but the country has 3.3 million saunas. Löyly is without a doubt one of the most popular public saunas in Helsinki – now you have the opportunity find out why.
