Call for Papers

We hope to attract a diverse set of papers geographically, theoretically, and methodologically – as long as they have an explicit focus on some aspect of competition. The papers can include competition at organization, group, or individual level, as well as at the level of groups of organizations (e.g., ecosystems, platforms, meta-organizations). We also welcome papers focused on the relationship between competition and cooperation in and between organizations.

We accept new submissions to the rescheduled conference until February 28th, 2021. Additionally, papers that were accepted for presentation based on the original call for papers are automatically accepted to the rescheduled conference.

Originally accepted papers

Please let us know, if you will present your originally accepted paper by February 28th, 2021, by sending an email to cd2020@aalto.fi. If you do not confirm, we will assume that you are not going to present your paper, and will offer the presentation slot to someone else.

Please note that in the online edition of the conference, all accepted papers will be presented in regular presentation sessions (in Zoom), regardless of your submission type (full or short paper).

Supplementary call for papers

While we expect many of the accepted papers to be presented in the postponed conference, the rescheduling creates some room for additional papers in the program. This allows us to accommodate important new research that was not submission ready during the original call for papers.

The deadline for submissions is February 28th, 2021. There are two submission categories: full papers and short papers. Please submit your paper to cd2020@aalto.fi.

Full paper submissions

The submission should not exceed 40 pages (including references) in length using a 12-point font and double-spaced text. References can be single-spaced. Accepted full papers are considered for the conference’s best paper award.

Short paper submissions

The short paper submission category is intended for innovative work in various stages of development. Submissions should not exceed 5 pages (excluding references) in length using a 12-point font and double-spaced text.

Presentations during the conference

All accepted papers (full and short) will be presented in regular presentation sessions (in Zoom), where authors have approximately 15 minutes to present their work. However, only full papers are considered for the conference’s best paper award.
