Catalysis group looking for summer trainees – application DL March 15

As mentioned in the Open Positions tab in our website, we will are looking for (currently two) summer trainees to my Catalysis group. I am copying our advertisement below in full.

The research group of Catalysis by Prof. Riikka Puurunen is looking for summer trainees.

We offer to you:

  • Interesting tasks within projects related to hydrodeoxygenation (HDO) of lignocellulosic materials or aqueous phase reforming to produce hydrogen from biorefinery related wastewater
  • Your daily tasks would include operating catalytic reactors, catalysts preparation and characterization using modern techniques, and analyzing samples
  • International working environment with a positive attitude

We expect from you:

  • Bachelor level degree from Chemical Engineering or other relevant field
  • Basic laboratory skills
  • Fluency in English
  • Previous experience from operating catalytic reactions or catalysts preparation and characterization are beneficial but not obligatory

Aalto University School of Chemical Engineering responds to current environmental challenges. We are ambitious to develop better catalysts for new solutions to fight against climate change by producing second generation biofuels or reducing the operating costs of an industrial process. We also try to discover the mechanisms of chemical reactions and the role of heterogeneous catalysts in that.
