Professor Andrade Egas and lecturer Natasha Ribeiro arrived in Finland on Monday 5th of May. Our week had roughly the following agenda:<\/p>\n

May 6th<\/sup>, (TUE)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Introduction of the Wood Technology laboratory at Aalto and department library. Host: Professor Mark Hughes\u00a0http:\/\/puu.aalto.fi\/en\/<\/a><\/p>\n

Introduction of the Clean Technologies Research Group (Puu1 building).\u00a0 Vagalh\u00e4o-project meetings. Host: Professor Olli Dahl\u00a0<\/span>http:\/\/puu.aalto.fi\/en\/research\/research_groups\/clean_technologies\/<\/a><\/p>\n

Practical work\/demos at Water Laboratory. Host: Sakari Toivakainen<\/p>\n

May 7th<\/sup>, (WED)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Visit to Koskisen Oy saw mill and production site (J\u00e4rvel\u00e4)\u00a0http:\/\/www.koskisen.com\/<\/a><\/p>\n

Demo run of the Raute lathe at the Wood Technology laboratory<\/p>\n

Visit to University of Helsinki campus at Viikki (host: Viikki Tropical Resources Institute (VITRI) See http:\/\/www.helsinki.fi\/vitri\/<\/a><\/p>\n

Meet with study affairs (Aalto level\/CHEM School level on management of post graduate studies) Sirje Liukko and Leena Hauhio.<\/span><\/p>\n

Meet with METLA, (Sinikka V\u00e4stil\u00e4) and discussion about shared projects in Mozambique.\u00a0http:\/\/www.metla.fi\/uutiskirje\/bulletin\/2012-03\/news2.html and\u00a0http:\/\/www.metla.fi\/hanke\/90238\/index-en.htm<\/p>\n

May 9th<\/sup>, (FRI)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Visit to Kirkniemi pulp and paper mill\u00a0(<\/span>http:\/\/www.sappi.com\/regions\/eu\/SappiEurope\/Mills\/Pages\/KirkniemiMill.aspx<\/a>)\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Visit to Nuuksio National Park Haltia Nature Centre\u00a0<\/span>http:\/\/www.haltia.com\/home.<\/span><\/p>\n
