Dear Aalto ARTS students and alumni, we are excited to announce the Open Call for exhibitions at Sushibar+Wine City for 2024!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This collaborative project was previously managed by Photography students at Aalto University, and is intended for showcasing works by current students and alumni. The project is hosted by Sushibar+Wine City in downtown Helsinki, on the second floor of CityCenter Helsinki where the restaurant has reserved a wall for exhibitions arranged by Aalto ARTS students. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In this Open Call, we are looking for four exhibitions to held in Sushibar+Wine City between January 2024 and December 2024. Each exhibition will be on show for approximately two (2) calendar months. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
We are looking for professional artistic and creative projects from all areas of the arts. There are no set theme, concept and format restrictions on the artworks and exhibited pieces. However, applicants must take into consideration the venue\u2019s primary function as a restaurant serving lunch and dinner. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 Publicly exhibit a new project
\u2013 Show a side project, or a project produced during a course, that would not otherwise receive much publicity
\u2013 Exhibit older, archival works
\u2013 Market and sell your work in public in Helsinki
\u2013 Gain experience installing and dismantling an exhibition in a live venue
\u2013 Finished, print and frame your work
\u2013 Find new fans, collectors and supporters<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fees and commissions: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2013 The exhibition space is free of charge. The artist is responsible for producing the artworks and for installing and dismantling the exhibition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2013 The exhibited works will be for sale. The artist must provide a list of exhibited works. All possible purchases will be agreed upon between the artist and the buyer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2013 There is no commission<\/p>\n\n\n\n Applicants may request a particular time slot for their exhibition but we do not guarantee you will receive the requested slot. Kindly mention clearly in the application if there\u2019re exhibition times that are NOT<\/strong> suitable for you. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Exhibition slots: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n January \u2013 February 2024 The exact opening and closing dates for the exhibitions and the dates for installation and dismantle will be determined when the exhibitions are determined. Selected applicants will be informed of these dates when they receive notification of their acceptance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Who can apply:<\/strong> We accept applications for students and alumni of all Aalto ARTS programmes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n How to apply: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Create one (1) attachment as a PDF that includes the following information:<\/p>\n\n\n\n 1)<\/strong> Exhibition Plan: Please clarify what type of exhibition is planned and how the works will be exhibited in the space. <\/p>\n\n\n\n 2)<\/strong> Portfolio + Information on the works: Please provide images of your work, or provide examples of previous works and sketches if you are applying with a concept. This will help the committee to understand clearly the theme, content and style of your exhibited works and installation. Please also provide approximate sizes of the artworks and other technical requirements. <\/p>\n\n\n\n 3)<\/strong> Artist Statement + Artist Biography: A short statement and biography on a single A4 page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 4)<\/strong> Name, Email address and Telephone number: We require these in order to contact artists in case of emergency. <\/p>\n\n\n\n All applications will be reviewed by Aalto students and Sushibar+Wine representatives. Jokainen n\u00e4yttely on esill\u00e4 noin kaksi (2) kalenterikuukautta. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Etsimme ammattimaisia taiteellisia ja luovia projekteja kaikilta taiteenaloilta. Taideteosten ja n\u00e4ytteill\u00e4 olevien teosten teemaa, konseptia ja muotoa ei ole rajoitettu. Hakijoiden on kuitenkin otettava huomioon, ett\u00e4 paikka toimii ensisijaisesti ravintolana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n T\u00e4m\u00e4 on loistava tilaisuus: <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2013 N\u00e4ytt\u00e4\u00e4 valmiita teoksia ilman kustannuksia Maksut ja palkkiot:<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2013 N\u00e4yttelytila on maksuton.
