Chen, Y. Jones, G.J.F. (2008) Integrating Memory Context into Personal Information Re-finding

Bookmark and Share

This paper is one of those I came across and didn’t have time to read earlier this fall when searching for ‘life logging’ related articles. It presents aspects of the human memory that can and should be considered when developing algorithms for information retrieval of ‘human digital memories’.

The most interesting parts for me were the discussion of previous work and human memory theory. Especially the concepts of ‘external context’ and ‘internal context’  and their relation to searching data should be remembered.
