Call for participation

Thank you for your submissions, the call is now closed. We received position papers from Finland, Sweden, Russia, Netherlands, Austria, Basque, Turkey, US and Australia!

Have you been using, researching or developing assessment methods and tools for  your smart city projects and would like to learn more? Or are you someone who decides what assessment methods and tools are used and is wondering how they can be put to use in a smart city context? If so, this workshop is for you! We welcome submissions from practitioners, policymakers, researchers and designers.

How to Participate

Please submit a position paper of 1 to 2 pages by August 28, 2020, outlining your interest and a related project on which you have worked. These position papers will be used to guide the workshop and will form the basis for a publication proposal.

Please submit PDFs to decodingthesmartcity@gmail.com

Position papers will be reviewed by the organizers and members of the advisory committee based on relevance to the workshop theme and potential for contributing to discussions.

The workshop is limited to 20 participants. Please note that we require at least one author of each accepted position paper to attend the workshop.

The extended versions of selected papers will be also included, upon a double-blind reviewing process, in a special issue of IxD&A Journal (ISSN 1826-9745, e-ISSN 2283-2998) that is indexed by SCOPUS and Emerging Sources of Web of Science.
