This book captures the story of the collaboration between the Warao a Janoko, Aalto University and UNHCR. We hope that the Warao a Janoko can serve as an example of successful integration of Indigenous Venezuelans in Brazil, through their resilience and hard work creating a new home for themselves in Brazil while still preserving their unique cultural identity. 

Furthermore, we hope that the collaboration can serve as an example of introducing participative ways of working to the humanitarian sector, highlighting the importance of listening to and engaging with the communities that are being served. The participatory approach can not only lead to better outcomes for the communities, but also empowers them to take ownership of their own stories and actively participate in their own development.
