While not all details are available yet, you can find in this post some of the upcoming changes that come with the Moodle upgrade, and other new features that have already been tried out . Find the date for upgrade on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aalto.fi\/en\/outages\">Aalto.fi outages page<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Question bank changes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Shared question banks are now more practical to use \u2014 you can filter by name, type, status, owner, and modification date. Non-editing teachers can also use questions from shared banks by default, making collaboration between colleagues finally possible without extra admin work. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Question banks\" width=\"1140\" height=\"641\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/8Zyqb69A0ok?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Activities overview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The new centralised course overview page gathers quizzes, forums, wikis, H5P, lessons, and more into a single view with consistent action buttons and human-friendly due dates. No more clicking into each activity separately to check status. <\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-thumbnail\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"362\" height=\"362\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.aalto.fi\/opit\/files\/2026\/05\/activities_moodle_501-362x362.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2175\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Activity Chooser<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Activities are now grouped by purpose (not just type), so it&#8217;s easier to find the right tool for what you&#8217;re trying to teach. Each activity now shows a detail panel with a description and whether it&#8217;s gradable \u2014 helpful when you&#8217;re building a course from scratch.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-thumbnail\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"362\" height=\"362\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.aalto.fi\/opit\/files\/2026\/05\/activity_chooser_moodle_501-362x362.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2176\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">MyCourses AI assistant<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Aalto AI assistant is now integrated as a tool for teachers to set up course related tasks for students. The teacher can prompt a specific behavior and upload content for AI to interact with students.
