NNDC study visit: Århus, October 12–14, 2011

The Counselling and Support Centre of Aarhus University calls accessibility professionals for a three day NNDC study visit on October 12–14, 2011.

Nordic Network for Disability Coordinators (NNDC) is a network represented by all the nordic countries. NNDC has a board and arranges annual meetings. So far the board of the network has arranged four meetings, in Oslo, Copenhagen, Reykjavik and Helsinki. The board has developed and established statutes which you can take a further look at

The vision of NNDC is: “An inclusive Higher Education for students with disabilities in the Nordic countries“.

NNDC arranges Nordic conferences.  Sweden (Stockholm) was hosting the conference in May 2009 and Denmark, (Copenhagen) was hosting the conference in October 2010. All Nordic disability coordinators in higher education will be invited to the conferences.

Thursday, October 13
10.00 Supporting students with mental and behavioral disorders – about methods and praxis by Ass. Prof. Maria Hune
10.45 Assessment and visitation by Ass. Prof. Ditte Hessellund
11.30 Student related difficulties associated with Asperger’s Syndrome and examples of supportive Initiatives by Ass. Prof. Martin Pors Knudsen
12.30 Lunch at the Counselling and Support Centre
14.00 Supporting blind and visually impaired students by Academic Officer Lise Kallestrup and Ass. Prof. Tina Thøgersen.
15:00 Discussion
15.30 NNDC-Meeting

Practical information

Participants: 30 people maximum – i.e. 6-7 persons from each country in the NNDC network
Registration: Send an e-mail to LHK@dpu.dk. Please note that registration is binding!
Deadline: Registration must take place before September 12.
