The archipelago along Finland\u2019s southern coast is magnificent. Some islands are no more than a rock and a bush, others are thickly forested. Channels and coves run in all directions.<\/li>\n<li data-stringify-indent=\"0\" data-stringify-border=\"0\">Helsinki is home to more than one million people \u2013 approximately one-fifth of the Finnish population. Try us!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b data-stringify-type=\"bold\">Travel<br \/>\n<\/b>For participants from outside the Schengen area, please keep yourself updated with the latest covid related travel regulations on the <a href=\"https:\/\/raja.fi\/en\/guidelines-for-border-traffic-during-pandemic\">Finnish border guard&#8217;s page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><b data-stringify-type=\"bold\">Helsinki Airport<\/b><br \/>\nThe nearest airport to the conference venue is Helsinki Airport (HEL), which is 19 kilometers from central Helsinki.<br \/>\nFrom the airport you can take the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.helsinki-airport.com\/train.php\">train<\/a> to Helsinki Central railway station (the journey takes about 30 minutes and costs under 5\u20ac, departures are frequent). Walking distance from the railways station to the conference venue or Hotel Presidentti is approx. 10 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>A taxi from the airport to the conference venue costs approximately \u20ac60. Finland has Uber and the price from the airport to the venue ranges from \u20ac35 to \u20ac60. Note that the number of available cars is limited.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Getting around in Helsinki\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\nHelsinki has a well functioning <strong>public transport system <\/strong>of trams, buses and metro.
