These phenomena include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The behavior of excitable tissue (the sources)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The electric currents and potentials in the volume conductor<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The magnetic field at and beyond the body<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The response of excitable cells to electric and magnetic field stimulation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The intrinsic electric and magnetic properties of the tissue.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Purpose of the Society<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The International Society for Bioelectromagnetism was established in 1996. The purpose of the Society is to promote the advancement of the science of Bioelectromagnetism and in furtherance thereof:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To facilitate the dissemination of new knowledge in bioelectromagnetism<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To encourage new research in bioelectromagnetism<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To sponsor International Congresses on Bioelectromagnetism<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To assist with satellite meetings related to bioelectromagnetism<br>by promoting meetings, lectures, discussions, seminars, conferences and by any other appropriate means.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.isbem.org\/icon\/line.gif\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">International Journal of Bioelectromagnetism, IJBEM<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Society established in 1999 the International Journal of Bioelectromagnetism, IJBEM. It is a peer-reviewed scientific journal in the field of bioelectromagnetism. It is available on the Internet free of charge to all persons interested. A printed version of the Journal is also available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ijbem.org\"> International Journal of Bioelectromagnetism, IJBEM, <em>www.ijbem.org<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.isbem.org\/icon\/line.gif\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">International Congresses on Bioelectromagnetism, ICBEM<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Society sponsors the organizing of International Congresses on Bioelectromagnetism.<br>Full list of the conferences may be found from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.isbem.org\/links.htm\">the links.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Membership<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>Membership of the Society is open to all interested persons either technically, medically or scientifically qualified in Bioelectromagnetism. Students are, of course, wery welcome as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The membership benefits include eg. considerable discount in the registration fee to ICBEM conferences.<br>Publishing without publication fee in the IJBEM.
