ARRIVAL & PRACTICAL INFORMATION

TO ENTER VERMO Areena, walk to the  the front<\/strong> side of the building facing the horse track  (parking area is in the back of the building) and enter from the wooden terraces<\/strong> >  we start in the VOLTTI lounge<\/strong> area and then move over to the meeting area one<\/strong> floor up. We will spend the entire morning & lunch break in VERMO Areena.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WARM, Water & Wind proof clothing and shoes are highly recommended for the afternoon outdoor session as the forecast<\/a> for Wednesday looks rather windy and partly wet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For tandem horse riding you will get a helmet, glasses and a cover overall but it\u2019s good to have insensitive shoes as dirt may fly around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wrap-up coffee will be served in the VOLTTI lounge. You can leave your changing clothes and bags in the meeting area throughout the day and there will be a locked space for laptops etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the official RUSKA you are welcome to stay for Happy Hour, the first drink is sponsored by the department. Also there will be TOTO betting demo at 16.15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RUSKA Research Day <\/strong>is a yearly event that is part of TUTA\u2019s long-term target to energize and advance the TUTA research community, its efforts, vision, and its research and societal impact<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year RUSKA takes us to the nearby VERMO horse racing arena<\/a><\/strong> only a few tramstops away from our campus. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Flow of the Day<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Welcome to start the day over a good morning breakfast at our venue. If you don’t know all your new colleagues, this is the day to connect with them! Jens will give us an update on what’s up and new at the department.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

In the morning sessions we will discuss two current topics: How to develop impactful, externally funded reseach projects<\/em> and secondly, Building stronger TUTA community – ideas and actions<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After lunch everyone interested can try out horse racing on tandem vehicles together with a pro horse racer! Needed helmet, glasses and cover clothing (haalar) are provided for you. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alternatively you can visit the stables, hear facts and myths about horse racing. Or you can play frisbee golf (own discs needed) or go trekking in the nearby forest or towards the Gallen Kallela Caf\u00e9 Tarvasp\u00e4\u00e4 <\/p>\n\n\n
