Week 6 learning diary by A&A

This week there was no quiz or lecture, so the only activity for this course was the exercise session. We both participated in the session remotely, and were surprised to see how well the execution of the hybrid session worked. We had bought modelling clay so that we would be able to participate in the session as interactively as possible, and at least I found the crafting enjoyable and educating. This was the first time we had a session like this in university, and it was definitely a nice change of pace. We feel like any time you can see something in action or try something yourself, it stays a lot better in your mind, whether it be a measurement demo or organ structure lesson.

All in all, this course so far has stood out to us as one of the best ones we have attended so far in university. It is really useful to have several professors, so that each can teach what they’re specialized in, instead of one professor having to teach outside their area of expertise. Also the exercise sessions feel like they focus on important things and the answers can usually be found by reading the book, which increases the motivation to pick it up later as well. Most importantly the exercises aren’t so difficult that they would just be frustrating, which is unfortunately the case in some courses. The excursions also are important and very interesting, so hopefully at least that part of the course will stay in future as well.
