This is a review of boundary object and boundary crossing literature. Boundaries are becoming more explicit and an important area of research due to increased specialization (for example, companies focus only on their core competence and outsource others). For me the most interesting thing in the paper was the good definition of boundaries. They are defined as follows: “sociocultural differences leading to discontinuities in action and interaction “. However, the authors stress that boundaries should not only be seen as barriers to but also as potential resources for learning. Hence, it makes an interesting area of research.
