Week 11 – Motor system

The last lecture week 11 was about our motor system, which is run by our brain and spinal cord. Both of them have their own role in controlling the movement of our body. It was a little bit surprising that how big part the spinal cord plays in the movement control in addition to the brain. It was good to get a recap of the structure of a muscle and the function of the motor unit at the beginning of the lecture, because after that the lecture introduced a lot of new information to us.  Once again, quite complex topics were easy to understand because the lecture had very good and informative diagrams and pictures.

The lecture week 11 included doing the exercise set 4, which has been by far the most interesting exercise set in our opinion. It was very nice that in task 3 we got to apply our skills more in practice and we got to see how the EEG data is processed, what kind of information is possible to get out of it and how to interpret the results. Also, other tasks were especially interesting this time. The task 4 is certainly very beneficial for the future. We also liked that the exercise set had a lot of choice in terms of own interest.
